Montessori PreK - Kindergarten

Central Florida Preparatory School also includes a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten program which provides Montessori classrooms for ages three to five.   With a ten to one student/teacher ratio, each child receives the individual attention this young age requires.  Each of our lead teachers is certified in the Montessori teachings.  In addition to the  academic curriculum, the students are also given weekly instruction in Computers, Spanish, Music, Physical Education and Art.  Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with early release at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.  Before and after care are available.  Before care starts at 7:15 a.m. and after care ends at 6:00 p.m.  There is a $2.50 per hour charge for before and after care.  We also offer after school enrichments ranging from Arts & Crafts to Sports.  Please click here to see the current schedule of enrichments.

Montessori Teachers

AURYMAR NAVAS – Montessori Directress.  Aurymar joined CFP Summer of 2000, after graduating from the National Center of Montessori Education. She holds a Child Care Development Specialist diploma from  Orlando Tech College.  Aurymar grew up in Venezuela. She is fluent in Spanish and English. Aurymar loves children and truly enjoys being in the classrooms, sharing their lessons and great achievements. Ms. Navas is also a proud mother of a young man named Manuel, who is currently in 8th grade here at CFP. She has a little Yorkie Terrier named Bruno and loves to spend her free time with family and close friends. Mary Ellen FayermanMARY ELLEN FAYERMAN - Montessori teacher.  Mary Ellen Fayerman was born, raised and educated in Long Island, NY. before coming to Florida.  In addition to being a wife and mother, she owned and operated her own business.  After the sale of her business, she was offered and accepted a position with the Children's Montessori Learning Center in Commack, NY.  In 1989, after her husband's retirement, the Fayermans moved to Lake County, FL.  In 1990, she began substituting at Montessori World of Orlando.  During the summer of 1991 she attended the Florida Institute of Montessori studies and received her certification.  She continued working for Montessori World until coming to CFP in 1995. Mrs. Fayerman has a variety of hobbies and interests that include home improvement projects, sewing, traveling and spending time with her husband and grown children.  You can email Mrs. Fayerman at mfayerman@cfprep.org.

Fatima KassooFATIMA KASSOO - Montessori teacher.  Fatima joined CFP in 2000.  She has taught in Orlando and Miami during the past 20 years, using the Montessori method of education helping children excel in their early childhood education.  Fatima received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in pre-medical and science subjects in 1981 and 1986 respectively.  She also holds a diploma from American Montessori International, specializing in Montessori education.  Currently, she is planning to enroll in the graduate program at the University of Central Florida and plans to earn her Masters degree in Education. She has resided in Florida since 1993 and currently resides in east Orlando with her husband and three children; two boys and a girl.  Both of her sons were born in Orlando, and her daughter was born in London.  In her free time, she enjoys sewing, cooking, reading and traveling.  She travels to the United Kingdom during the summer months to visit her family residing in London.  You can email Mrs. Kassoo at fkassoo@cfprep.org

AIDA URTEAGA – Montessori teacher.  Aida was born and raised in Lima, Peru, South America.  In 1990, she earned a Bachelor's degree from Santo Domingo de Guzman University in Lima, Peru.  She worked as a traditional pre-school teacher from 1986 to 1992 in Peru and in 1993, she moved to the United States and married her husband, Michael.  Aida worked in Fort Lauderdale at a private school as an assistant and Spanish teacher.  In May 1995, she received her Montessori certification and worked as a Montessori teacher until June 1997.  She moved with her husband to Orlando the same year and started working at a Montessori school as a teacher and Spanish enrichment teacher.  Aida has one son, Miguel Alonso, who is attending CFP.  She enjoys teaching spinning and step aerobic classes at the gym.  You can email Mrs. Urteaga at aurteaga@cfprep.org

KRISTINE MORGAN-RING - Montessori Teacher -  Kristine joined CFP in 2003 after moving to Florida from Bedford, NH, where she taught pre-school for four years. She was married in 1996 and has two children, Ryen 7, and Matt 3. Before getting married, Kristine traveled to many different places around the world. The Virgin Islands, where she lived for three years and met her husband, is her favorite. Kristine has an Associate degree in Applied Art from Bay State College in Boston, MA. She also attended NH Technical College and received many early childhood education credits. Kristine completed her Montessori certification in August 2004. KAY BLACK - Montessori Teacher, a native Floridian, was hired by Founding Director Bob Flanders. She first joined CFP working in the front office, and later took on the role of special events coordinator. Her interaction with the student body, particularly the Montessori students sparked an interest to join the Montessori staff. She decided to make a career move and returned to the classroom and became a student again herself. She subsequently received her certification from the National Center for Montessori Education. Kay is married and has two grown children and one in high school.  In her spare time she and her husband Bob enjoy spending weekends riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle!  You can email Mrs. Black at kblack@cfprep.org

Milagro FloresMILAGRO FLORES – P.E./ Spanish teacher.   Milagro was born and raised in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. She attended the Universidad de Carabobo where she received a degree in law. In addition, she owned and operated her own real estate business. Milagro moved to Miami after the sale of her business. In August 1998, she married her husband, George. In Miami, she completed the training of  "Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Young Children" developed by the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Education. Milagro worked at the Coconut Grove Montessori School in Miami and in 1999 moved to Orlando with her husband, where she began working as a Montessori Aide at Central Florida Preparatory School.
