Robert FlandersROBERT FLANDERS (1950-2002) - Founder.  Bob Flanders, founder of Central Florida Preparatory School, formerly known as Central Florida Community School, started his educational career in 1974 as a classroom teacher at a small private school specializing in learning disabilities.  After several years he realized that teaching was his life's calling and returned to school adding a Master's degree in Business Administration to his undergraduate degree in Education.  He then set out to acquire the skills necessary to successfully start and run a private school and in 1990 the opportunity arose to start a school, and with his wife's support he began CFP.  Bob served as director of the school until his death in June 2002. His wife, Rowena, lives in south Orlando with their five lovely children and two dogs.  People often joke that the reason Bob started CFP was so he would have a place for his children to go to school and in the first two years they were the majority of the student body.

Rowena FlandersROWENA FLANDERS - Director.  Rowena graduated from St. Leo University in 1977 with a B.A. in Elementary & Secondary Music Education with concentration in applied voice and a Minor in Speech.  She then taught in the public school system.  After settling in Orlando she went to work for Walt Disney World in the Entertainment Division.  During the 18 years that she worked for Disney, she performed with the Voices of Liberty, and taught educational classes for the Disney University.  Rowena has taught both music and science at CFP for a number of years.  She has been the Director of Admissions and Testing and acted in the capacity of Dean of Students for the lower grades.  Rowena has five children.  Sean, her youngest, is in elementary school, Peyton is in high school and her triplets, Andrew, Christopher and Julia graduated from CFP in 2004.  Rowena played an instrumental part in the opening of Central Florida Prep and continues to help shape the school's philosophy and vision today.  You can email Rowena at:  rowena@cfprep.org .

Sandy GrafSANDY GRAF - Upper School Principal. Sandy joined Central Florida Preparatory School in 1999.  She came to us from the Ocoee Police Department where she had served eleven years as a police officer.  Toward the end of her tenure with the police department, Sandy was promoted to the position of sergeant and placed over the department's Youth Service Division.  While she held the assignment, Sandy discovered that she enjoyed working with teens but she began to crave a more positive involvement with them.  Recalling how much she enjoyed teaching (Sandy had taught in the police academy in Osceola County while she was with the Ocoee Police Department), she decided to change careers and become a full time teacher.   A long-time Central Florida resident, Sandy graduated from Valencia Community College with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice.  She continued her education at Barry University, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, and at Troy State University where she obtained a Master's degree in Counseling and Psychology.  Sandy is married and has one son who has attended CFP since 1992.  A world-class admirer of cats, Sandy owns three incredibly spoiled cats.  She enjoys reading and outdoor activities in the sun.  You can email Sandy at:  sandy@cfprep.org
